WinCupL II
There are a couple of utilites that I've used over the last five years or so where I've had to install them on older Windows operating Systems, ISE Design Suite 14.7 for Xilinx CPLD's on Windows 10 and WinCupL on Windows 8.
The WinCupl on Windows 8 wasn't an ideal solution but the only one at the time when I started out using GAL re-programable IC's. There was also little chance of WinCupl being updated as GAL IC's had been made obsolete so some years before and so in 2026 on a whim I decided to look to see if there was anything new out there...
To my surprise there has been an update! WinCupL II v1.0.0. Beta dated Aug 2025 is avaialble from Microchip.
I installed it on Windows 11, a very simple process with no issues at all, and then gave it a go. It looks and feels completely different from the earlier version but it is simple to use and generates the required .jed file. I have tried it with a couple of my earlier designs, with no alterations, and although it can produce different checksums they run okay when programmed into a GAL and put into the circuit.
